Deep Tissue Massage
Improve circulation and muscle tension.
A Deep Tissue Massage from our Chattanooga spa is a deeper, stronger, more intense massage using therapeutic techniques to work on problem areas.
A deep tissue massage can have a positive effect on blood pressure and can also help break up and eventually erase scar tissue in the body. Deep tissue massage accomplishes this by improving lymphatic circulation and drainage to improve flexibility. By improving circulation, deep tissue massage can also alleviate muscle tension and reduce inflammation that causes pain. Other benefits of deep tissue massage include helping to stretch tight and twisted muscles, allowing for release of toxins, and healing of muscle tissue.
AFTER YOUR DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
There may be some soreness after a deep tissue massage; however, the soreness should go away within a day or two. The massage should not hurt but will be a little more uncomfortable than a classic massage. During your massage at our Chattanooga spa, if you feel the pressure is too firm, please tell the massage therapist.
A good followup after a Deep Tissue Massage is to drink lots of water and soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts. This soaking is recommended because it will help get more of the toxins out of your body as the epsom salts will draw toxins out of the body and into the water). Your muscles need some rest after a deep tissue massage, so even if you feel no soreness do not plan any strenuous activities for a day or so.
